Initial Assessment

Comprehensive initial assessment of your

interests, skills and abilities as well as future goals and expectations.  

Search community resources

Targeted research and investigation done on your behalf into suitable opportunities in the community based on your skills, interests and abilities.   

Collaborative research

Guidance and support  to help you navigate community resources and collaboratively identify suitable opportunities.  

Community Activity Plan

Identification of community activities and a plan for your participation.  

Follow up discussion and/or meeting

Follow up to talk about your progress participating in the community activity. 

Walk and talk

Follow up to discuss your community activities while walking and talking.  

Site visit

Follow up at the location where your community activity takes place.      

Community Activity Plan revision

Consultation, discussion and collaboration about making changes or adjustments to your Community Activity Plan. 

Resume/cover letter writing /interview preparation

Update your resume and cover letter for your volunteer role application, and prepare you for volunteer role interviews. 


Community Support Services

Consultation, collaboration and follow up with medical practitioners, community associations and interest groups

Consultation / follow up with health care practitioner

With your consent, discussion with your family physician, occupational therapist, kinesiologist or physiotherapist about your health condition, therapeutic goals and progress in your community activities.  

Consultation / follow up with mental health services provider

With your consent, discussion with your psychologist, counsellor, life coach or psychiatrist about your participation in community activities.  

Consultation / follow up with community service provider

Discussion with the Community Program Administrator prior to or during your  participation in the community activity.  With your consent, this may include information about your limitations, restriction, skills, interests and abilities.      

Volunteer Role Evaluation

Completion of a written volunteer role description including the physical and/or cognitive demands, developed in consultation with the volunteer agency.  

Volunteer Role Hazard Analysis

Review of a volunteer role and analysis of potential risks and recommendations for avoiding accident or injury. 

Volunteer Role Ergonomic Assessment

Review of volunteer role and analysis of role and  the potential for modifications to duties, work site or physical demands.  

Program Development

Guidance and direction for non-profit associations and municipalities to develop programs and services that increase diversity and the inclusion of people with disabilities in community activities.    

Presentations

Interactive presentation of information,  resources and practical steps that can be taken to increase diversity and the inclusion of people with disabilities in community activities.    

Consultation and Collaboration

Consultation with community groups to identify common interests, need and opportunities for service enhancement.      

Group and event photography skills for volunteer associations

Learn how to capture the important contributions your volunteers make in the community, including volunteers with disabities.  Understand consent and how photos can be used and shared.  Gain practical tips about how to support, enhance and recognize the skills and abilities of your volunteer photographer.  Find out where to access inclusive stock photographic images to increase the representation of people with disabilities.    

Photography outings for individuals or groups

Considerations for planning photography meet ups or group events where photography is encouraged.  This may include a walk outdoors to capture images of nature, a visit to an art gallery show,  or a musical performance.   Understand how #hashtags can be used to share images from volunteer events and community activities.     

Cell phone photography and how to share images on social media

Understand the photography settings of your cell phone and make the most of your editing functions.  Find out about the principles of engaging photography including subject matter,  composition, lighting and posing subjects.  Learn about sharing your photos on social media and ensuring that you are being respectful of others when posting on social media. 

Travel costs may be incurred and are in addition to service fees
